Virtual Connection
Because no family should have to live this journey alone.
Our Virtual Connection meetings are relaxed, casual conversations hosted by heart parents who know this life firsthand.
The support group for parents who accidentally became "heart people."
Remember when your biggest parenting debate was screen time?
Now you're casually explaining oxygen saturations, medication schedules, and why your toddler has more cardiology appointments than playdates.
Yeah...we get it.
» No pressure. No awkward introductions.
» Run by heart moms-for heart moms. Fun casual conversation. A place you don't have to explain because we're living it too.

Wait...What Is This Exactly?
Imagine hopping on a virtual call with a bunch of heart parents who instantly understand your life.
Some weeks we laugh until we cry.
Some weeks we actually cry.
Some weeks we're celebrating a surgery anniversary, asking for advice about feeding tubes, talking about school, venting about insurance, or just trying to survive another hospital stay.
There's no agenda you have to follow.
No pressure to talk.
No expectation that you have everything figured out.
Just real conversations with people who genuinely understand.
No awkward introductions. No pressure to share.
Just a group of people who understand the weird, wonderful, and incredibly hard world of congenital heart disease.
Things You Never Have to Explain Here
Why your child has a scar.
What HLHS means.
Why you're nervous before an echo.
Why discharge doesn't always feel exciting.
Why "stable" is your favorite word.
Why your phone has 8,000 hospital pictures.
Why you know more medical terminology than you ever wanted to.
What oxygen saturations are.
What it’s like fighting alongside your heart warrior after surgery.

Guest Speakers
Instead of listening to someone speak for an hour, our community gets the chance to ask questions, share experiences, and learn together in a relaxed environment.
Once a month, we invite someone we'd love for you to meet.
Sometimes it's a cardiologist, an adult heart warrior, or another heart parent who's walked this road before us.
They're not here to lecture.
They're here to have a conversation.

Yes! Our community includes families with children of all ages and at every stage of the CHD journey. No matter where you are, chances are someone has walked a similar path.
-
Neither did most of us when we joined for the first time.
One of the best parts of Virtual Connection is that everyone remembers what it felt like to be the "new person." You'll be welcomed from day one.
-
We currently meet twice each week through live online video meetings. Check the schedule above for our current meeting times.
-
As of right now our session is only open to heart moms. Spouses and partners can join for our guest speakers. We are working on creating more support groups for full inclusion.
-
No. Virtual Connection is completely free.
-
Yes! There's no pressure, no expectations, and no perfect way to participate. Just click the meeting link, say hello (or don't!), and join us whenever you're ready.
-
Not at all! Some parents jump right into the conversation, while others prefer to listen for a few meetings first. You're welcome to participate in whatever way feels most comfortable for you.
-
Nope. Camera on, camera off—we're just happy you're here. Join in whatever way feels right for you.
-
No. Virtual Connection is a peer-led community hosted by heart parents. It's a place to connect, share experiences, ask questions, and support one another—not a professional therapy or counseling service.
-
Honestly...a little bit of everything!
Some meetings are full of laughter and funny heart parent stories. Other times we talk about surgeries, feeding tubes, medications, school, marriage, mental health, insurance, or simply surviving another week. Every meeting is a little different because it's driven by the families who attend.
-
Absolutely. Whether you're newly diagnosed or years into your journey, you'll be welcomed with open arms.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Virtual Connection was created by heart parents who understand how isolating life with congenital heart disease can feel. Many of us found that after our child's diagnosis, we didn't quite fit into the parenting groups we once belonged to.
This isn't a formal support group or a classroom. It's a community of parents who understand the language, the milestones, the fears, and the victories that come with raising a child with CHD. Whether we're laughing about everyday life, celebrating a big milestone, or supporting one another through a difficult season, you'll find people who truly understand—because they've lived it too.
There are very few places where you don't have to explain yourself.
This is one of them.
Find Your People
Whether you're newly diagnosed or years into your child's CHD journey, you'll find parents who understand the language, the emotions, and everything in between.
There's no agenda.
No pressure.
No expectations.
Just connection.
Come as you are. Stay as long as you can.
We'll save you a seat.
When many of us became heart parents, we realized something surprising.
We didn't quite fit into our old mom groups anymore.
Conversations about sleep schedules suddenly felt very different when your baby had open-heart surgery. Celebrating milestones looked different. Our worries looked different. Our victories looked different.
So we created the kind of community we were searching for
—a place where no explanation is needed because everyone just gets it.
We Created the Group We Wish We Had
What began as a passion project has evolved into something more. We’re proud of where we’ve been and even more excited for what’s ahead. What sets us apart isn’t just our process—it’s the intention behind it. We take time to understand, explore, and create with purpose at every turn.
